Chess A Minute...

The president of the Amity Chess Club, Dick Jokiel, is giving a chess lecture (having nothing to do with playing chess) at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Pottstown on Sunday, August 22 at 10:30 AM.  Here is a blurb on the lecture from Dick:

Chess, the oldest game in the world, which I have been playing since my father taught me the game at the age of six.  Chess is a game of multiple geometries –thoroughly challenging the mind.  Today, school districts and independent groups promote chess to provide youth with another constructive alternative to life on the streets.  It certainly helped keep me out of trouble during my teenage years.  It teaches the need for planning and that decisions have consequences.
