The Linares tournament (in Spanish only again--sigh) hosted a meager 6 players this year (and none of them were Carlsen). Not that the players were meager, just the number. There is usually 10 to 14 players, but I guess the economy is even bad in the chess world. Topalov took the top spot this year but is still second in the ranking (I'm sure you know who is #1!). |
